I'm glad you arrived, please do come in.. I hope you enjoy my Homemade crafty items. Feel free to leave a comment and if you have any questions I'll do my best to reply. I've been having better luck with my Mojo but still have a tendency to get lost in the game. I lose my mojo and I just wait for some inspiration to hit and then I'll scrap again. I'm sure others know what I'm talking about. We just plain run out of ideas for a moment! Sooner or later things are kicking back into gear! YAY! For those that stop by and leave comments, I greatly appreciate it. Even stop by just to say Hi.. I will try to get back to your blog too. I hope you have a great day, I hope you enjoy your visit! My newest layout called "My Dolly Loves Me"

This layout is of my daughter when she was only 7 months old, as she plays with one of her dolls.  Its seems so are to believe that she will be 25 this year.   The Caption under her picture says,  "Here is my dolly all tattered and torn. Everyone loves her even though she's worn.  Her body is floppy and her hair is a mess, but I love her dearly and she loves me best!"

This gorgeous butterfly was purchased off of Etsy from http://www.etsy.com/shop/kaylori77?ref=pr_shop
She does beautiful homemade crafts, check her out.

Thanks for stopping by.  Sherry

Friends Forever New layout finally done!

I've been working on this new layout for awhile..  This is my daughter Ashley and her best friend Jen at her wedding in Aug 2010.   Ashley was one of her bridesmaids.
I hope you enjoy this layout.   for now I will have it in a shadow box, then I will give it to Ashley so she can enjoy it on her wall, then tucked into her album it will go.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.  Most flowers I made myself.. except the teeny roses, and the blue Primas.    I've been practicing making roses for the last couple of months, trying to get confidence that hey have an authentic look.. I'm still working on them!

This light blue rose I put through my cuddlebug and lightly inked the embossed area.  I love the look.   I've had a 1/2 of box full of roses until my last two layouts..  Time to keep practicing and trying other flowers too.  I just love making them
and growing them..   My kitchen table is currently FULL of bedding plants that need to get put outside.  This week.  I think I'm safe to put them in, no more frost.. (but as soon as I say that.. it will freeze out)

This little title frame has a Tim Holtz Fragments under it, with the title glued on with Glossy Accents.
I just love the sparkly leaves it just adds alittle something more.

Here is a list of some of the contents I used for this
layout:
My Mind's Eye  Lost and Found paper
Pink Glitter paper
Acrylic Fragments
Celebrate It  Valentines Wired Ribbon
Glitter steams  from "Noel"
Glossy Accents
Corsage pins, and matching beads
Ek  Large Edger Punch - Scallop Daisy
Scor Pal
Dew Drop Inks
Wonder tape  (love this tape as well as (Terrifically Tacky Tape)
Prima Flowers Roosevelt Collection -  Carow,
Prima Flowers.. Athena Collection  Blue Belle

I discovered I LOVE making hat pins Not sure way, but just mixing and matching to find just the right color combination I throughly enjoy!

The white little butterflies were a perfect addition to this wedding layout.  They are so small and delicate with such cute dainty antenna's.  You can see a few close up pics of the roses I've made.   I've went from different papers... thick and light... then just white paper which are fully inked..  Very enjoyable to sit down and watch TV and make them.  I hope you enjoy my work.

Thanks for stopping by,  I would love to hear from you.   Take care

A challenging layout.. I almost want to call it NAKED lol

If you haven't guessed by now I love the girly layouts, and boy layouts, which you don't see to often, I'm very challenged.  I don't want to add the girly things.. but then.. whats  left???   Well I made this new layout of my two sons.. they are now 22 and 19 as these two pictures where taken a couple summers ago.    I will be the first to say.. I need work on doing mail layouts, I don't know how to make a wow one yet.  But I keep trying.    I hope your can appreicate the work that I DID come up with.  The border on this, has a few different items.  the green string are actually tiny beads that I wired onto some thin wire.. and then sewed it on in the middle of the black and white ribbon ( meant to match Kyle's shirt)  I only poked myself with the sharp pin a couple times as I blindly poked it through the black cloth and paper, so I did pretty good!! lol   I have more male layouts that need to be done so hopefully I can feel more confident with them once completed.   Thanks again for stopping by and thanks for those that leave messages and let me know you have been here.  Much appreciated.   So here we go.

Young Love

Finally have a new layout to share.  This is my daughter Ashley and her boyfriend Dave.    As most of you know I love flowers.. making and growing, but I have never actually tried to make roses, not sure why.  I"ve spent the last couple of months playing around with paper trying to make a roses that looks like a rose.
Most flowers on this layout are roses made by me, just the two really small ones are not.  I'm still practicing, but I hope you enjoyed how these ones turned out on my newest layout.   Thanks for stopping by, feel free to leave a message that you've been here.

Started Simple But Ended Dramatically!

My FIRST Victorian style hat.  A challenge I made for myself, just to see if I could do it!

The next few pictures shows you some steps on how I completed my hat.  I wanted it to resemble hats found here...  http://www.ladydianehats.com/Victorian_hat.html    Check it out and see if I qualify for a true Victorian style hat.

I been working on this for a couple of days..  it started from a very cheap flimsy hat.  I bought it in from Michaels last year and it came in a set of 4.

As you see its just pops up but is very flimsy.  I challenged myself to see if I could turn this hat a true Victorian style one.  I have my work cut out      for me, could it be possible?

First I started with added a bigger brim, cutting a circle out of construction paper and clued the hat to the new brim.   Then I had to give the hat support so I glued construction paper to the inside of the hat covering the rippled layers, as well I covered the outside of the hat.. leaving tabs to clue.  I then added a top circle.. which I have not shown.
Making it with satin like material.. I covered the brim with a draw string on the inside and on the outside.. which tucked nicely under the construction paper.

I then did a repeat of the material over the top of the hat and it too tucked nicely inside the crease.  Wanting it to be perfectly smooth, I added some 4 inch wide white ribbon and then at the bottom I also added another piece which covered the crease and any material that didn't get tucked nicely inside.  Worked perfectly!

Using tacky tap I taped the inside of the hate and pulled the material tight giving it a more professional look.  That tape is so good but boy when you use it make sure you got it where you want it because its so sticky you can never get it off, paper especially I had some moving room with the material.  I decided to add beading draped nicely around the edge, I thought that added a very feminine touch.

NOW the fun begins,  I wanted it to be very fancy and victorian style as you see so many Victorian style  work on scrapbook.com I wanted to join the theme.
TAADAA!!    The front, full of roses and rose buds  and fluffy feathers to finish it off!
Now What hat can go without a hat pin???  Making the pin to match, it fit perfectly.
The pin is a 6 inch bouquet accessory and bought at Michaels in the wedding isle.

And to finish it off my creation.. I filled the back full of pink crinoline..  and although it's hard to tell.. the crinoline is full of light pink sparkling gems.     I hope you enjoyed my Victorian hat.   Thanks for stopping by and please let me know who's visited and leave me your thoughts.  I'd love to hear what the Victorian girls think of my work.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Are you Curious????

I've been working on something for the last couple of days...  I just wanted to show you what I started with... now if your curious enough,  you'll come back later to see once I finished and post the final project..OH what could it be???

My Nameless Layout

I've been working on my new layout but couldn't think of a name so for now it will remain nameless.
Thank you for stopping in..  I hope you enjoy all the sparkle.  This a self portrait of me taking in 2007.

Here are a couple upclose shots I just love that little hat, it was a hair clip but after removing the clip it fit perfectly with this layout..   Of course if I have the hat I have to have a hat pin to match.  The butterflies I got from Michael.

This is one of my homemade flowers which I made sometime ago, and found that it matched perfectly with this layout.  It even picked up on some of the sparkle that, that collection of flowers had.  Top white layer has just as much sparkle too but just the way the camera finds it.  The inside had a white prima flower with a rose in the center.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my newest nameless layout.  Feel free to leave a comment and to come back again.  I appreciate the time you take to stop by.  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Experimenting with Colors

I'm sure, by now, you all know just how much I truly love flowers.  There is something so peaceful, so comforting, and fulfilling when starting flowers from seed and watch them grow as you take tender care of each plant.  Now that I'm dealing with problems in my spine I can no longer grow flowers and care for the large number I used to grow for myself.   SO painting them and making them has somewhat filled that void.   As you will see there are lots of homemade flowers on my blog, I've been restless the last week  and decided to try some more..  I've only done a couple different colors, but experimenting with different colors, and ideas I enjoy immensely.  For those of you that enjoy looking at homemade flowers here are a couple more I've done.  I've been painting up a bunch of different colors and probably will experiment some more in the next few weeks.    Can't have flowers in the winter, so I'll have fun and try making them.
Thanks for looking. Please feel free and leave your thoughts or even just a HI.    Always nice to know I have at least one or two visitors.

Let me know what you think.

Of course being that Pink is my favorite color  I thought I would try a different one
this time.

Thanks for stopping by,  I Hope you have a wonderful day.  I'll post again, once
I'm finished.  Take Care

My first Tags made for a swap.

Well I was alittle nervous making them as I never made any fancy tags before..  but I'm pleased with them and having to share them with you here...  This first one is made with Flower soft Display Globes.I really like the bubble the surrounds my flowers.

I'd love to hear what others think.. are they to big???  they are on average about 4x8.  Each tag has homemade items, such as all the pins or charms.. and some of the flowers I made too.  The Smile tag has a glass mirror in the middle, so I was trying not to get Me in the picture too, or the camera....  so if your wondering.. its just a stack of shelving you see in the reflection.
Thanks again for stopping by, leave a message and share your thoughts...
OH yes.. and Happy New Year!

Have you tried the Imaginisce iTop Brad Maker?

If you love this tool, but hate the uneven edges it can produce.. follow this little trick I found on the net to creat smooth even edges that almost make them look store bought.  No more points.. no more visible lines..  this trick is worth giving it a try.   These brads were made from cardboard paper plates, so they are much thicker than just regular paper and still I'm so pleased with how they turned out.   Have the Imaginisce iTop Brad Maker... give this a try and let me know how your brads turned out.

I recently seen a video I believe it was on youtube from Imaginisce, but  I can't be sure.. to many earthbound souls, erry lifeless souls looking for someone to invade, I think one got me!! lol  my brain just isn't the same. teehee

Anyway enough with the silliness I watched an Imaginisce produced video.. and todays post is for those of us that LOVE the Imaginisce I Top Brad Maker.    I just love being able to make a brad to what ever my little heart desires, but always hated the little ridges that are created after using the Imaginisce paper punch and the brad is completed.  You know its just not the perfect look... I've studied many crafters who use the brad maker, and look to see just how well theirs turn out and if they can get there edge to look smooth.. or what tricks they did to cover up the sides..   WELL HOLD ON.. cause this video that I watched gave a fantastic trick tip and I just had to share it with everyone, well to those that stop by anyway!

After punching out your image, paper, or what ever it is you want to make a brad out of, lay paper towel on the table and place your cut paper, in between folded paper towel,  then wet the towel..   don't soak your paper.. but sightly dampen it.  on both sides.    Then continue the steps of making your brad, making sure the edges are good and tucked in before you clamp the back on.  When your brad is made.. roll the finished brad all around the counter.. to flatten the edges.  I used extra firm pressure as what I made my brads from were cardboard paper food plates, so you all know how stiff and how the ridges would be extremely hard and pokey...   WELL ROLL ON!    Give it a try... Here is a few pictures.. could you guess that those are made from paper plates??  They are almost perfect.. and you would have to look twice to see that it actually does have edges but they are so pressed in they blend in...  What a Great tip Imaginice had!!
If I could find that video I'd show you.. but then again.. to many invasions and not enough memory!!

TAKE A LOOK UP CLOSE!!  Well do you think it worked??   ohh I just love this trick!

I'd love to know how it worked for you, so please share your experiences with me.
Happy Brad Making!
OH yes and a very spooky Halloween!!

Paper Lady Bug Shoes

As part of my shoe  swaps, I made this adorable little shoes and I enclosed a pair of  these cute little ladybug paper shoes to go along with her blue "fit for a queen shoe, to celebrate her first expecting baby.   I've been waiting to post  the pictures until after she got her parcel in the mail, as I didn't want to ruin the surprise!
Its a shame they are only paper, but of course the glitter paper isn't really baby friendly, so she'll have to display them with her other blue shoe, I made for her.
They are just little and hard to tell scale size in here but I think they are just way to cute!!   I hope you think so too, feel free to leave a comment.

Thanks for checking out my new paper shoes. I love the visits, let me know you've stopped by.
